NOVEMBER MEETING DATE CHANGE Our regular meeting night for November falls on Thanksgiving so we have changed the date to November 17th. We WILL be returning to the old Port Norfolk Fire Station, 432 Broad St, near Detroit St. LETTER FROM ED Last month three Association members made a trip to Norfolk and spoke with an EEOC representative. Based on concerns, complaints of Age Discrimination, Race Discrimination and Discrimination against the Disabled were lodged. According to law, the investigators have 10 days to notify the City of the complaints. We have information that the City (at least Mr. Wolf) now knows about the complaints. We will keep members informed as best possible as we progress. Mr. Wolf has notified us that starting January 1, 2006 disabled retirees making twenty-thousand dollars ($20,000.00) and below will be able to get insurance under the City employee plan. He said they were also looking into giving it to all retirees under twenty thousand.
